The extra-strong PVA bag made from high-quality polyvinyl alcohol material is particularly suitable for lamination with acrylic resins, epoxy resins and prepreg as well as for the orthopaedic footwear specialism. With a material thickness of 0.1 mm, it is particularly robust and ensures improved durability and performance during the curing process.
Especially when laminating with epoxy resins in combination with Orthopox fibres (616G12&#61;H5.1, 616G181&#61;H5.2), the extra-strong PVA bag offers improved protection against mechanical damage. PVA bags are available in conical form in various lengths, widths and thicknesses.

Padding

Valued in orthosis fabrication for its padding properties: ComforTex soft padding material is especially pliant and very comfortable for the user to wear.

Lamination Technology

Orthopox lamination resin is a transparent, epoxy-based resin for fabricating thin-walled, sturdy laminates using lamination technology. Thanks to excellent impregnation and bonding to the reinforcement fibres, it offers a very high level of component quality like prepreg technology and a higher structural strength compared to acrylic resins. The curing time of the lamination resin can be controlled by the temperature, and the component can be individually coloured with the Ottobock colour pastes.

Unlike our other resins, the Orthocryl sealing resin is not suitable for laminating. The acrylic resin is only used for sealing and bonding. Combined with fillers, it can be used to produce fillers.

The new hook-and-loop closures consist of the hook-and-loop strap, strap guide loop and moveable pad. They can be used in orthotics and prosthetics for the lower and upper limbs.
Soft edges make the hook-and-loop closure comfortable for the wearer.
It is easy to shorten and use, since the length of the strap offers flexibility but is not damaged while shortening – the durability of the hook-and-loop closure is maintained. The sliding pad can be individually cut to length as well thanks to the integrated welding seams.
Thus the hook-and-loop closure with pad can be perfectly positioned on the device.
Excellent guidance of the loop strap in the strap guide loop makes the hook-and-loop closure very sturdy and therefore ideally suited for high strain. Four guide loops are used to securely yet flexibly position the pad on the loop strap.
The pad is also available separately for easy replacement.

With the RevoLock®, the fixation of the liner can be easily adjusted in the prosthetic socket. The system can be laminated in, providing a custom solution to meet the user’s requirements. The system can be used for lower and upper limb prostheses. The RevoLock® 4-hole tool is required for installing the RevoLock® 4-hole sets. The 4-hole tool is reusable.

Ottobock flax fibres for TT and TF sockets are a sustainable alternative to carbon fibres. They are easy to model and do not require any additional tools or methods. The fibres are available in a combination of unidirectional and bidirectional fabrics, tapes and tubes for different requirements for the stability and strength of the socket. Ottobock flax fibres are processed in a similar way to carbon and can be combined with nearly all Ottobock resins. We recommend using OrthoEpox GreenLine resin 617HG5 to produce a particularly sustainable laminate. Our tested layout plan 646T786 explains in detail how our flax fibres are processed in combination with a lamination disc or a lamination anchor to create a secure socket. No further training in material processing is required.

OrthoEpox GreenLine is a sustainable epoxy resin which consists of 50 % renewable raw materials and is used for the fabrication of lightweight, thin-walled yet sturdy laminates in prosthetics and orthotics.

Thermoplastics

ThermoLyn clear plus is ideal for the fabrication of self-supporting check sockets used in short-term, supervised trial fittings in the practice.
As a clear and transparent material, it allows skin discolouration on the surface of the residual limb to be precisely monitored in order to draw conclusions about the fit of the prosthetic socket. The thermoplastic material can be reheated and shaped as needed so that the contour can be perfectly adapted to the shape of the residual limb.
